Artists 4 Israel Celebrates Successful Art Basel Exhibition of Bomb Shelter Museum with Fundraisers

Craig Dershowitz, Director of Artists 4 Israel Inc. (A4I) a 501 (c)3 non-profit corporation in New York City is pleased to announce a pair of fundraisers at The Yard @Artists4Israel.

Miami – Artists 4 Israel, a New York based, Not-For-Profit Corporation, exhibited its Bomb Shelter Museum during Art Basel Week, sharing the Israeli experience within “The Yard @Artists4Israel”, its popup graffiti art gallery space on the southern border of Midtown Miami.

Artists 4 Israel is holding two raffles for two 8’ x 8’ works of art on Masonitetm canvas from last week’s Art Basel exhibit.  Custom Artists 4 Israel glasses by Miami’s SeeYa PR Company, will be given away via raffle every 30 minutes during this weekend’s fundraising activities.

The Yard @Artists4Israel was built in 10 days according to local Producer Grant Stern’s conceptual plan to provide street artists with a popup gallery that allows for preservation and later sale of works created with spray paint, typically left on walls.

Artists 4 Israel is an advocacy group fostering cultural exchange Directed by Craig Dershowitz, consisting of grass-roots volunteers and artists from around the world.   One frequent contributor, Belin, the photorealistic spray artist featured in Artists 4 Israel’s Overture Art Fair Exhibition flew in from Andalusia, Spain created a mural on The Yard’s 80’ by 20’ wall which will remain on exhibition.  Belin’s works are currently on loan to LMNT Arts Miami for public viewing.

“We hope to show the world the reality of life under rocket attack.  All too often we hear about these attacks and consign them to some desensitized part of our brain.” said Craig Dershowitz, executive director of Artists 4 Israel, regarding “The Bomb Museum” exhibit. “If no one dies, we don’t care so much. After all, the loss of life is far more pressing of a story. The truth is, the real terror and trauma of the situation occurs in these bomb shelters.

Friday night’s event at The Yard begins at 6:30pm, sponsored by local group NoWalmartinMidtown.com and features live painting by The Artist Subi.   Saturday night’s event at The Yard begins at 7:30pm featuring DJ Sire and the Miami Spice Bikini Basketball team.  Both events are open to the public with drinks sponsored by Status Vodka.

“More than eight thousand visitors came to The Yard @Artists4Israel in under a week during Art Basel,” says Lionel Leventhal, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Artists 4 Israel.   “We hope these fundraisers will allow more people to view this amazing artwork, and give local residents a chance to own a piece of Art Basel.”
